How to Clean Up and Speed Up Your Phone (Without Deleting Everything)

1. Check What’s Eating Your Storage

The issue: Many phones slow down because storage is full or nearly full.

The fix:

• On Android, go to Settings > Storage
• On iPhone, go to Settings > General > iPhone Storage

You’ll see what’s taking up space photos, apps, cached data, and more.

2. Clear App Cache (Don’t Worry It’s Safe!)

The issue: Apps like Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok store temporary data that builds up over time.

The fix:

• On Android, go to Settings > Apps > [App Name] > Storage > Clear Cache
• On iPhone, uninstall and reinstall the app to clear its cache (or offload it see next step)

This won’t delete your account or settings just the digital crumbs slowing things down.

3. Offload Unused Apps

The issue: Many apps you rarely use are still eating storage.

The fix:

• On iPhone, go to Settings > iPhone Storage > Enable Offload Unused Apps
• On Android, manually uninstall apps you haven’t used in months

You can always reinstall them late your data will often still be there.

4. Move Photos to the Cloud

The issue: Thousands of photos and videos clog up your device.

The fix:

• Use Google Photos (Android/iPhone) or iCloud Photos (iPhone)
• Enable “Optimise Storage” so your phone keeps smaller versions and stores the full ones in the cloud
